I know it's open to debate, but I would venture to suggest that if there was no money on this planet, I think there would be more food being produced than there is being produced today.
Not saying Bill Hicks was a closet SPGBer - though he is in there amongst the other Dead Socialist Watch bods - I just think he liked to tell jokes with the word "cocksuck" in the punchline.
Money is an agreement. We agree that it worth something. Otherwise, if you gave me a dollar for something, I would look at it and say, "What the hell do you want me to do with this piece of paper?" If we stopped agreeing that it meant something, we would go back to the barter system. It would make ebay rather inconvienient. lol
