The Unbeatable Rightness of Hearing [iTunes]

Never knew until this very moment when the song randomly played on iTunes that the bassline from the Gary Numan track 'M.E.' was sampled by Basement Jaxx for their track 'Where Your Heads That.' Christ, Basement Jaxx are shite. And the blame can't be lain at Gary Numan's door. The original track isn't that bad.

A quick google search confirms that I was not just imagining things.

Are you sure that's Gary Numan? Looks like David Bowie to me. BTW a belated thanks for recommending Regina Spektor to me about a year - saw her the other night in Bristol and she was jaw-droppingly good.

Take care,

Jools

p.s are Basement Jaxx really shit?

It's a David Bowie lookalike. Even whilst acknowledging that Numan made some good music, I still can't help but have a dig at Numan's magpie tendencies.

With regards to Basement Jaxx, is that you being rhetorical? I just don't like their music to the point that they annoy me, and I can't even be arsed to mention that they are yet another product of that tin pan alley music factory otherwise known as UCL.

That video for 'Where Your Heads Out' also freaks me out a bit. Aphex Twin's videos are family video diaries in comparison.

Glad you liked Regina Spektor. I seem to have a better success rate in plugging the music in contrast to the politics. Maybe I now know where my priorities should lie. ;-)

Ilove the song and video for Where's Your Head At - but that's probably cos I'm really really cool!

Reidski,

I could be really sarky in reply but as you mention Eddie and the Hot Rods in your latest post, I'll give you a pass.
