Can I claim credit for tipping you into Allen mode?
Remember, don't drive in New York State with a live Moose on your fender on tuesdays,..........

You can claim the credit.

Good (not a great) film, with a nice heartfelt performance from Zero Mostel.

Zero Mostel will always be Bialystock for me. The Producers was his finest hour, surely. Or at least one of them. I saw the film version of the stage version of The Producers (perhaps a touch redundant, eh?) on a Christmas Day in NYC, in the Ziegfeld Theatre. The audience applauded the songs! I couldn't quite get what that was about.

Just twigged.

I said it was a good book but not a great book. Alice B Toklas knocked me out.
Nice one.

PS; You may wonder why I am commenting so much. We've had about 4ins of snow here in Manchester and the place has shut. Everyone is at home getting cabin fever. Still, you can look on the bright side - they've had more in London, which means, of course, that it is an OFFICIAL NATIONAL DISASTER, and the news talks about nothing but the weather.

There was me thinking that you were commenting so much 'cos you recognise that the more you comment, the more I reply with other comments and the less I blog. ;-)

Being a couple of thousand miles away, I can only think of British snow in the most selfish of terms: 'Shit, does that mean there'll be no match of the day tomorrow night?'

Looking that way.

With regards to The Producers, it's a film that I've only seen bits of so I could maybe see include in the film a day daftness.

I just know that I'll have to be in the mood to watch it.

5 of this weekends Prem. games off so far, and I suspect some more soonish. Pitches are fine, but roads are unsafe.

The Producers; best seen at the Gaumont in Manchester around 1974. The building is still there but its now a Macdonalds. Sic transit gloria etc
