Cue fanfare

Brilliant, brilliant news.

That bloke with the salt and pepper beard that Paddy McAloon was always writing lyrics about must really be up there.

I feel a Kitcheware music marathon* coming on.

Yes, ace news indeed!

Hey, I hope that isn't sarcasm. ;-)

I was genuinely chuffed to bits on hearing the news. Owen insisted that I listen to nineteen Prefab Sprout tracks in a row whilst I was feeding him and getting him to fall asleep.

Sorry, I was embellishing there. It was only 12 Prefab Sprout songs in a row. I listened to a few twice:

1) 'Cue Fanfare' (from Swoon)
2) 'Green Isaac' (from Swoon)
3) 'Here On The Eerie' (from Swoon)
4) 'Goodbye Lucille #1 (from Steve McQueen)
5) 'Bonny' (from Steve McQueen)
6) 'If You Don't Love Me' (from the Best of)
7) 'A Prisoner of the Past' (from 38 Carat Collection)
8) 'Cars and Girls' (from From Langley Park To Memphis)
9) 'All Boys Believe Anything' (from Jordan The Comeback)
10) 'The Ice Maiden' (from Jordan The Comeback)
11) 'Faron Young' (from Steve McQueen)
12) 'When The Angels' (from Steve McQueen)

Thank q the recently played facility on iTunes. I feel a random 25 coming on.

no sarcasm at all. My (kind of) mates once supported Prefab Sprout on tour. Didn't end as abruptly as their support slot with the Beautiful South, which ended with them being kicked off as bassist socked Heaton's missus on the kisser!

Name names. Failing that, just mention the name of the band.

If they supported both Prefab Sprout and the Beautiful South, there's a strong chance that I was one of only seven people who bought any record that they might have released during this period.

That time in my life was not a good period for my record collection. My musical tastes went awol for the duration of Johnny Hates Jazz's pop shelf life.

*Just don't tell me it was the River Detectives.*
