Catch a star . . .

. . . and, shit, I forgotten the next line. A banging track, mind. Better than the better-known Elton John version.

Houchenesque

Sometimes the Zuck comes up Trumps . . . as opposed to him usually kissing Trump's arse.

"Ronnie Clayton heading Blackburn Rovers' 78th-minute equaliser against Liverpool, FA Cup 6th Round, 1 March 1958. Ally MacLeod scored Rovers' winner a few minutes later. Crowd of 51,000 in Ewood Park."

I love a diving header. We all do. You look at the photograph, and you'd think Clayton was doing that every other week but it turns out that he scored less than 20 goals in a full and successful career.

Killing time after breakfast . . .

Monday morning . . . one teen already at school . . . one teen dreading going to school. It's a league night, and as the Dartitis is haunting me again, I'm not playing legs against the Russ Bray Darts App. Just throwing semi-randomly at the board to get my Dart muscle memory up and running again. I really fear the worst tonight. I won't know until I'm actually there whether the Dartitis has enveloped me again.

What a thing not to look forward to.

Dream Baby (1989)

153 . . . for the hard of hearing.

Turns out it's been a while since my last recorded Round of 9. Still haven't gotten one in League play. Another one for my Darting bucket list. (Does 'bucket list' work in this context? I don't have a scooby.)

Correction or addendum . . . you decide:
According to this post from July, it looks like I hit Round 9s more often than I think. I guess I don't record them all for posterity.  If it's a Round 9 of, say, T19, T18, T17, I don't usually post a picture. The funny thing is that that sort of Round 9 is much more difficult than the Round 9 posted above, or even a 180 for that matter.

"I don't want to wake up dead"

"He's shot up, hasn't he?"

Insert "I had to hire an air balloon" joke here. Vertigo's no joke when you get to my age.

"This is the station with the timeless hits"

No inspiration at this point. True Colours coming through at this point. (Groan.)

Through a (camera) glass darkly . . .

Another one of those 180s hit in a Brooklyn bar on a league night before the start of the actual main event. I didn't come close to hitting one in the actual match itself.

Yep, I know the picture looks like it was taken underwater on a secondhand Kodak Brownie. It couldn't be helped. My phone was dying  - fuck you, iPhone 6 - and the match was about to start. I didn't have time to line up my picture Cartier-Bresson style. It could have been worse; if my phone had died before I had the chance to take the picture, you'd now instead be looking at badly drawn pencil sketch of a 180.

P.S.
We won 15-4 on the night. Played 4, won 3 . . . and in the match I lost, I actually played half-decent.

Blue Ruin (2013)

I need to sharpen my darts before Monday night . . .

That second T20 was only staying in the board 'cos it was resting on the first T20. I had no choice but to go for the T19. Don't quote me on this but I think that's my first 177. Ordinarily, I would normally always go for the third T20 whatever the odds, but 20 minutes before my third dart had knocked out my first two darts when they were in and around the T20, so I went down a different darting road  . . . for once.

I might make a habit of it. Once I get past that itch of always wanting to hit 180s.

14 Darter

I know I've hit 1 12-darter and 2 13-darters previously, so I shouldn't care so much for a 14-darter nowadays but it still hits the spot for me.

100, 100, 76, 140, 85 outshot (T15, D20)

107.4 average.

The morning after the night before . . .

Missed a 180 last night during a league game. A bit gutted, naturally, 'cos I always like a free T shirt.

We played so well last week, and then get smashed this week. Such is the darting life.

This morning's 180 can only bring so much solace.
