Just rewatched this on Tubi. Absoutely fucking majestic. A wonderful cast all round, but Leonard Rossiter, in particular, was an extraordinary comic actor.
Americans always bang on about Are You Being Served? and Benny Hill. I wonder if any of them ever check out Rising Damp . . . and what would they make of it. Arguably ITV's best ever sitcom. Not that there was ever much competition.
