30 Day Song Challenge - day 24

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral

What do I care? I'm not going to be there.

Maybe this *cough* classic - just to be annoying and pretentious in equal measures:

It could be the version by Thee Midniters, or it could be the one by Timi Yuro - both superb performances and rather interestingly different - but surely the ultimate song for a funeral has to be "It'll never be over for me". The Timi Yuro version is in my will anyway.

Never heard that song before, and just checked out the Timi Yuro version on You Tube. Good stuff.

And - via You Tube, again - I've just listened to Thee Midniters version.

I think Thee Midniters version edges it. Do you still have time to amend your will?

Sorry, its just got to be Northern. The Timi Yuro version was "big in Wigan", if you get the drift. Try "Chicano Power" by Thee Midniters, as well.

Not that you'd play it at a funeral, mind. (Chicano Power. Unless you were in La Raza Unida or whatever that party was called, perhaps.)
