"I'm Eighteen"

'I'm eighteen and I like it
Yes I like it, oh I like it, love it, like it, love it
Eighteen, eighteen!
Eighteen, eighteen and I like it'

Apologies to Alice Cooper.

18/50

Let's be honest, the Janis Ian post was better.

At Seventeen

'And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Photographing 180s on the phone . . .'

Apologies to Janis Ian.

It wasn't at the Swedish Club, though . . .

. . . threw for a 180 last night. Hit the T5 with my third dart. It would have been sweet.

. . . still lost the leg, mind.

My 16th 180 of 2025 is some sort of solace.

There's been an arrested development.

Pardon the cringeworthy pun but I equalled my highest ever checkout.

Why the post title? See here and all will be explained.

12 but also a 13 . . . read on

. . . My 12th 180 of 2025 but also part of a 13-dart leg. My best ever leg against the Russ Bray Dart App. (Yep, he's on mute.)

123, 43, 180, 119, D18 (115.6 average)

Yeah,I don't get it either

I didn't hit my 10th 180 until April 6th last year. In 2020, I didn't hit my 10th 180 until January 23rd. (My best year for 180s.)

It's looking good . . . too good . . . here's the pride. Now it's just all about waiting for the fall - ah.

Infuriating

. . . sorry, still thinking of Monday night.

9/50

It's not a Monday night, though, is it?

And I really needed a score like this last night  . . . to no avail.

In the voice of Barry the Radish . . .

. . . I should have thought of this blog label years ago.

It was this movie that probably put the germ of the idea in my head, but now that I've just watched this 1979 classic for the first time  —  yes, really — it's now up and running as a going concern on the blog. Maybe it will prompt me to watch other films that I should have watched decades ago. Fill those bastard gaps.

And, of course, I'll have to add similar labels for books and albums. It stands to reason, surely?

Another 14-Darter

Threw for a 12-Darter but hit the S5 instead of the D20. 35 left and I missed the 3 by hitting the 17 but pinged the D9 at the first attempt. If you knew how much I hate D9, you'd consider it a late Christmas miracle.

I think that's my fourth 14-Darter. It'd be nice to top it - and also hit the elusive triple bull - in 2025, but that's just me being fucking greedy.

For the archives: 92, 123, 180, 71, 35. (107.4 average.)

"I hate it when this happens . . . "

A second 180 with the Target Carreras. Should be pleased as punch, but the problem is that it just ends up messing with my darting head. 'Are these the darts? . . . The one and only? . . .  Blah, blah, blah . . '. you've seen this schtick on the blog before, and it always ends the same way . . .  gnashing of teeth and me throwing hardback fiction at the TV in tearful frustration.

That Tungsten Emotion

Occasionally I play cricket on the Russ Bray App, and occasionally I score what is known as a Round of 9.

Take my word for it, it's a good thing.

Spot the song title in the post?

Playing away.

Switched to the Target Carreras whilst I was soaking the Dark Thunders.

Storming the T18 bed . . .

I'm writing this post on the 27th of the January, but this Round of 9 is from January 6th when I was still using the Designa Dark Thunders.

I didn't have an issue with the Dark Thunders. They had been my regular darts for months on end; I just happened to pick up the Target Carreras 'cos the Dark Thunders were soaking in some soapy water, and something clicked. Darts can be bastard annoying like that. It likes to throw you the occasional curve ball. It likes to mess with your head.

Will I go back to these darts at some point? How long's a piece of string? (An inside family joke. Don't mind me.)

Three T18s is nothing to be sniffed at. That segment of the board can be frustrating for me. I'll take it.

Where's the book?

My follow up score was 3. Figures.
