Just down the road from Hemel Hempstead

From the BBC Sports website:

Residents of Hertfordshire town Tring are upset with Graham Poll's inability to stay out of the spotlight. "Once upon a time if you told people you were from Tring, they'd say, 'Oh yeah, that's where Walter Rothschild is from'," said one resident. "Now they say, 'Oh, that's where that bloody referee lives'." (Times)

According to NUFC fans, this ref is the bees knees - he disallowed a Man City goal this afternoon, thus saving the Mags from plummeting to the foot of the table :-( I hope this geezer realises that the future of NE Branch quoracy, and consequently the world socialist revolution, depends on the mags getting relegated this season.

What are you saying John? As a Gillingham fan I have a soft spot in my heart from the time the NU crowd went to Roker Park to cheer us on! "Geordie Gills" they sang as we beat Sunderland in the first play-offs back in 1987! lol

BTW, nice to see pics of you and Darren. I have spoken on the phone with both of you and now have a face to put on the voices. I would post a pic of myself were it nt for ppl's absurd idea I look a bit like Hugh Grant....
