Absolutely awful. Loved the book but the film was a car crash and, sadly, as Colin Bateman wrote the screenplay he shoulders his share of the blame.Thewlis, you one-trick - or rather, one-tic - actor.

I rewatched this a few years back. I've revised my opinion. It grows on you . . . and it's a fun cast.
