They were finished a half hour later. Kollberg drove quickly and carelessly through the rain but Martin Beck didn't seem nervous, in spite of the fact that driving usually put him in a bad mood. They didn't speak at all during the trip. When they pulled up in front of the house where Martin Beck lived, Kollberg finally said: "Now you can go to bed and think about all this. So long."
Hey, you did it - you got another one in! There was a programme on BBC4 recently on Scandinavian crime fiction, and these two were featured. The 'parents' to Henning Mankell etc... Was it a good one?
Glad it was a good 'un; I'm tempted to dabble too. The (4)Beeb followed it with one on Italian 'noir' - haven't seen it yet - and last night they showed the first of a new series of 'Zen', based on Michael Dibdin's books.

ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed Roseanna. Maybe 'enjoyed' isn't the best term for what was, at times, quite a grim read.
I'm hoping to read the Martin Beck books in sequence. Depends if and when I can get a hold of them secondhand.
