A placebo of course, is what GPs normally give people. And on good medical grounds too, since the placebo effect is beneficial.
The problem is that presumably I don't get a placebo effect since I don't have confidence in GPs' abilities to prescribe anything other than placebos. So does that mean that cynicism is bad for us?
