"Newcastle midfielder Lee Bowyer turned down a move to Birmingham because he was concerned for his physical safety, according to David Sullivan. "Steve Bruce, we thought, had talked him round," Blues co-owner Sullivan told the Birmingham Evening Mail. "But he was genuinely worried that one night there would be 10 Asians waiting outside his house ready to kick seven bells out of him."
If I was Bowyer I'd be more fearful of living in a street where everyone had one of those irritating Brummy accents.
ReplyDeleteHey! Yow wunna watch whut yow're saying round eyuh.
ReplyDeletePresumably Papillon's accent is by contrast utterly without fault?
ReplyDeleteBTW Bowyer is comes way below even the muppet-brained wonder that is Phil Neal, who demanded payment from the Observer to talk about Heysel. Does Bowyer think his racism is that easy to duck?
